Meet the World in the Park (North Prospect) - 28/07/2007

On July 28, a second Meet The World in the Park event will take place in North Prospect. Again drawing together local people and people from many different ethnic backgrounds. The day will be full of cultural activities and work done by local schools will be on display. Further information will be posted in due course.
North Prospect meets the world in the park - 28/07/2007

The ‘meet the world in the park’ festival promises to be an exciting and fun event. The highlight of the festival includes cultural performances and workshops. These include Kurdish dance, African drums, South African dancing, Calypso music with Antigua Jo, ethnic food tasting, barbeque, world cup penalty shoot out, face painting and much more. You are cordially invited. Come and experience the beauty of harmonious living in North Prospect. Remember, the date for the festival is Saturday 28th July 2007; Time: 10am -4pm; Venue: Ham Fields.
Dance Explosion!!!!! - 30/06/2007

We are calling on young BME and White boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 18 to participate in a dance project aimed at showcasing the best of African, Afro Caribbean, and Hip Hop moves in town. Rehearsals have started at Lipson Community College and it holds on Wednesdays 7pm to 9pm. You are welcome. Come and have fun!!!! The exhibition of the dance is likely to be on the 30th of June 2007. June 30th marks a major event of cultural diversity in Lipson - 30/06/2007

Fata He is pleased to announce 2 major events happening in the city, bringing together people from various communities. Meet The World in the Park event, is designed to unit local people and give them a great understanding of the many diverse groups within the city. On June 30th from 11am – 3pm and in partnership with Lipson Community College, Fata He will be facilitating this cultural event held in the ground of Lipson Community College. Black and Minority Ethnic vacancies on the Local Strategic Partnership Board - 25/06/2007

Are you a member of the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Community who wants to get involved, have a say and represent the views of the BME community on decisions made in the city? If the answer is yes, Plymouth Community Partnership (PCP) in partnership with Fata He are seeking 2 members of the BME Community to come forward and apply for the role of mentee on the Local Strategic Partnership (Plymouth 2020). Plymouth’s Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) brings together the public, private, community and voluntary sectors to work as one body. It seeks to add value and achieve a better quality of life for the people of Plymouth. This is a learning role and both mentees will be mentored by Fata He’s Chief Executive and in addition, PCP will provide ongoing support. We are holding an informal open meeting for anyone from the BME community who is interested in becoming a mentee and would like to find out more about the role and the LSP.
